However, due to the revamp, the drop down menu will only display placard smilies and the number will not exceed 100. A little bit of history: the Review Metropolis was preceded by the late Yomi’s Forum of Unspeakable Ramblings. Due to the proboards upgrade to version 4, many of the old codes became defunct, and in the process of overhauling all old codes to new ones, Yomi killed the board. Tragic as may have been history, the new Review Metropolis offered us another opportunity to consider our strategies and methods of reviewing in light of changing circumstances. In the two and a half years since the first forum, most of the old members have either graduated into University or have begun full time work. Extended confrontations with authors is now a hazy and distant dream. Long detailed reviews are a rare gem. Fatigue has put out the firey brand we used to wield. Perhaps it’s time to adopt a new tact – the Metropolis is just a neutral place to archive our reviews of fanfic, and if we’re lucky, a chance to engage in discussion with their respective authors.
